All loose belongings should be boxed. You can do this yourself or have LA Movers, Inc. do it. We can pack all of your items or only the most fragile things. Unlike many moving companies, LA Movers, Inc. company does not incorporate an extra labor charge for its packaging services………we only charge for the supplies we provide to you.

 

If need be, you can purchase new moving boxes from LA Movers, Inc. on or before the day of the move.

 

To reduce costs, you can get recycled boxes for free from local stores. These boxes should be clean, strong and able to close. (During your move, the boxes will be stacked on top of each other.)

 

Please note that insurance coverage is only applied to items LA Movers, Inc. packs.

How does LA Movers, Inc. define "packing"?

 

Q: I used so called "profession packing and moving" company couple of years ago, that promised to take care of my office furniture and elecronics.  I though I could trust them and let me assistant handle the move while I was a way for business.  When I came back from my trip found out that my laser printer, one of the monitors and the most importantly our file server were damaged during the move.  Apperently movers did not use any packing matterial for protections and had no idea how to move servers.  Any suggestions on getting my computer equipment moved safly this time? - Stan

 

A: You may have heard horror stories of hundreds of dollars being added to moving costs because the moving company has "re-defined" the word "packing". Packing means placing items in boxes with packing material and securing the items in the box so that they are protected. Proper packing helps to ensure that your items arrive in perfect condition. This requires skill and is a charged for service.  Blanketing and padding, on the other hand, is part of standard service in the moving industry. This service is performed for furniture and is not charged for — it is part of your service. Lately, some newer moving companies have been found to charge customers for standard blanket wrapping that should come as part of your normal service.
